Care - Shearling and SherpaUpdated an hour ago
Shearling and sherpa are soft, plush materials that need a little extra care. Shearling is a natural wool, and sherpa is a wool-like fleece, so both should be handled gently. Here’s how we recommend caring for our shearling and sherpa pieces:
- Remove debris: Both materials can naturally pick up bits of debris. Lift them away carefully with a pair of tweezers, taking care not to pull out the fibers.
- Brush: Gently brush the surface with a clean, dry cloth to keep it from tangling.
- Test first: For dirt or stains, mix 1 cup warm water with 1 Tbsp. of Woolite or a wool cleaner. Test on a less visible area and let it dry fully before continuing.
- Spot clean: Dampen a soft cloth with the solution and gently blot the affected area.
- Rinse: Blot with a second clean, water-dampened cloth to remove any soap residue.
- Dry: Allow your bag to air dry thoroughly.
- Store: Keep your bag in a breathable dust bag or container, away from direct light and high temperatures.
Please avoid:
- Pulling or tugging at the fibers when removing debris
- Letting the solution or water soak through the material
- Getting any leather trim wet
- Plastic storage bags or containers
- Direct light and high temperatures
